Salt is an independent design studio based in Athens, Greece, that offers a wide range of services. A print and digital agency that aims to be at the cutting edge of trends and communication practices in order to deliver forward-thinking and unique solutions. Salt is also an independent publishing venture that publishes books for an international audience of visual culture.

“We aspire to inspire before we expire” is their motto. Much like salt, they can spice things up and add a nice flavour to every project they take on - this is the motion behind the chosen name for this design studio.

The logo of salt studio had to have a unique and creative feeling and because of that, the decision to create a grainy texture and connect the word to the actual image of salt had been made. Salt’s logo is simple yet playful. Its main colour is white, placed on a black background. A secondary colour palette was created for the visual identity, which was used mainly on stationery and packaging. These colours represent the different types of salt that people could find around the world.













This publication is a collection of trademarks created by many designers in the past. Inside the book box two volumes can be found; one that includes font-based corporate marks and the second volume that explores the language of symbols.
The intention of this project was to develop a vibrant new identity for a creative company, a design studio, and apply the main characteristics in a publication, which would work as an example of production direction.
